T460s keyboard question

I recently purchased a T460s, which I like a lot. However, I am disappointed that the keyboard, while pretty good, is not the style or quality of my X220. It is the best laptop keyboard I have ever used, and I hate to part with it. I can still return my T460s if there is something better, keyboard-wise, but they all look like the more modern design with less sculpted keys and shorter throws.

There isn't anything you can do except go back to the X220/T420/T520 generation. You could pick up an X230 and swap in a classic keybaord, but some of 7th row keys won't work. Still, you would get the deeper key travel than the chiclet keyboards with this mod.

I assume no one else makes a "decent keyboard" in that sense these days?

No. Even though thinkpad keyboards have gotten worse over time, they are still far better than any of Dell's or HP's offerings, especially the trackpoint implementation.

Just to chime in, I got a new T440p and I find the keyboard to be OK, I've used previously a T430 work laptop which the keyboard was also OK. I don't know about the T450/T460 but I think the quality of the keyboard is less because the laptops are now very thin although I believe there's 2.1mm travel compared to 1.8mm on the carbon.
