T530 1600x900 quality ?
T530 1600x900 quality ?
The notebookcheck review of the T530 shows an AUO 900p screen, while all 900p T530 on ebay seems to have a samsung panel, ( 04w3346 - LTN156KT04-401 ) , this panel is new and wasn't used on T520 or earlier, and I can't find any info about this panel's quality.
Any info or suggestions ?

Get a FHD panel, those 1600*900 ones are not worth IMOhhhd1 wrote:Any info or suggestions ?

+ 1, but make sure to get the panel with revision 4 and not 1 which was used on the later batches, since the latter is sheer junk...Tasurinchi wrote:Get a FHD panel, those 1600*900 ones are not worth IMO

Re: T530 1600x900 quality ?
thanks for the replies,
on a related note, the one 1366x768 screen that seems to be used in all T530 on ebay with that resolution (the ones with known serial to lookup parts) is:
04w3339 LP156WH4-TLP1
incidentally, i have personal experience with that panel, in a Lenovo essentials B590 (celeron ivybridge), the whole laptop costed like $300 NEW from retailer, and not during any special discount.
my review of that screen was posted on NBR few years ago. http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads ... in.745165/

My current monitor which is causing me horrible eye strain:
LP156WH4-TLP1
it is matte surface, and looking closely at it i can see grainy look, light colors are too bright and shiny (and not saturated properly), dark colors are too bright(gray-ish), very low contrast between whites and blacks,,
Cause me burning sensation.

Re: T530 1600x900 quality ?
I think I may have found the first comment specifically on the 1600x900 quality on w530 (the same as the t530)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-revie ... SA8R5DKSK/
http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-revie ... SA8R5DKSK/
Additionally, if you do end up choosing to go with a W530, do yourself a favour, and get the full HD screen (I got the 1600x900 because I hate having screens with anything higher than 90DPI). The lower-end screens have absolutely b ad colour gamut and viewing angles (completely out of whack white point and blue gamma). It's worth mentioning that this is the first ever screen I have actually had to use a colour calibrator to correct gamma, instead of eyeballing it like I usually do. It's that b ad. And I've calibrated Phillips screens before.

Re: T530 1600x900 quality ?
I told you so above.
For 15.6" Thinkpads I'd stay away from anything which is not FHD, and there you have to be careful too, but at least you have some options.
Below FHD resolutions your options in panels are either bad or worse...

I do certainly believe you, but,Tasurinchi wrote:I told you so above.

The FHD almost always comes with nvidia, which i need to avoid, and nvidia+FHD adds to the price quite a bit.
Knowing that the 1600x900 is bad, just trying to know if it is 'usable' or not, otherwise i may have to start looking for a T530 without a screen (or with a screen with issues), and put in another panel.
I am now 75% thinking that the 1600x900 screen is NOT usable though

Oh, I'm sorry, I misunderstood. I thought that you had the ThinkPad already and were looking for a panel only.
That's the best plan IMO.hhhd1 wrote:otherwise i may have to start looking for a T530 without a screen (or with a screen with issues), and put in another panel

Probably my fault for not stating clearly that I am doing my before buying homework.
