Thinkpad T460 does not work with any Windows 7 Recovery CD

(I use Windows 7 Disk Imaging EVERY DAY . . this is my job)
T460 Win7 Recovery does not even work with a Windows Recovery CD made from a new T460 Windows 7 Recovery CD !
No matter what Win7 recovery media I use, even a CD created from the T460 says "this version of System Recovery Options in not Compatible with Version of Windows you are trying to repair . . . ."
I created a disk image of the system from the "Maintenance Menu" and now have a reason to restore the T460 from the image (like I have done 5000 times before with other Lenovos and HP and Dell etc.)
A Win7 64 SP1 factory CD gives the error.
The CD made from the T460 gives the error.
Last Resort .. A win7-32 recovery cd give the same message as expected
What is Lenovo doing ???? . . . have they hardwired something at the hardware level to only recover Win10 ?
If they have done what it appears they have done . . (prevent the use of Windows 7 Disk Image Recovery) it was a major F.UP.
