Does a normal T440 panel fit in a T440 equipped with touch?

#1 Post by jacobtc » Fri May 06, 2016 4:28 pm

So I bought a water damaged T440, and the only thing not working is the panel. I disassembled it, and removed the panel, and I am now wondering if I can somehow use a normal T440 panel instead of the touch version? I was hoping to keep the screen assembly, and only switch out the panel, is that possible?

Just looking at the T440 parts list and HMM, it looks as if they use different screens and different cables.
Based on similar machines, the touch-version has probably also a thicker lid.
But the main disadvantage: touchscreen is HD+, all other screens are only HD.
Have you checked the LCD-fuses?

Okay, well I don't know if it is worth buying a complete upper lid assembly then.

Trust me, the whole screen was corroded, it was bad! The screen had light spots etc. Not a fuse problem :)
