Thinkpad T430 temperatures

#1 Post by teamde78 » Mon Jul 04, 2016 10:02 am

Hi there,

I have a thinkpad t430 as my main driver and I noticed that the temperatures have started to spike up a bit. While doing multiple tasks on my PC, im hitting usually around 60-65 degrees Celsius. It sometimes will spike up to 73-75 (MAX). Should I begin to worry about these temps or are they normal for an aging computer. It has been sometime since I cleaned it out, but after a quick look in the machine it doesn't look bad at all.

Just getting some opinions.

Thanks!
Thinkpads: T430 (daily Driver), T60, Z61, T410, T410s, W500, W510.
Other: Macbook Pro Retina 2015, Macbook Pro 2012.

Take the keyboard off, lightly hold the fan down so it won't spin and use a few hits of compressed air on the area. Sometimes dust can build up and still be hidden inside.

If that doesn't change anything reapply AS5 or Tuniq TX-4 Thermal paste to the cpu/gpu areas.
Current Thinkpads: W530 (functional classic keyboard mod), X301, T61, T60, T43, T23, 600X, 770

Yea, I think that would probably be best. It's been about a year since I reapplied thermal paste.
