Weird message on startup

Just started getting a weird message on the desktop on booting up (T430, 64 bit Win 7 SP1 Pro):
Server Busy
! This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy.
Choose "Switch To" to activate the busy program and correct the problem,
Switch To or Retry
If I "retry", the computer boots up as normal, if I "Switch To", the start menu appears.
There's nothing unusual in the startup menu (just the usual bluetooth program) and nothing in the system startup programs (MSCONFIG).
Anybody seen this before and been able yo get rid of it? It only happens on cold boot, not if I "restart" the computer.
Thanks in advance,

I peeked at the log but, frankly, I didn't understand it.

Summoning the collective wisdom of the masses (i.e., Googling the problem), there seems to be several examples of this happening over the years
Adobe users blame Lightroom (but only when that program is started;
https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1527383 ).
Intuit users see it in QuickBooks Desktop;
https://community.intuit.com/articles/1 ... am-is-busy
A person using CuteFTP Pro says he fixed it but gave no relevant details;
https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solv ... y.1026582/
BleepingComputer thinks it was something to do with Avira:

This person has (had?) Avira on their system but don't know if he/she removed it in order to fix the issue:

My opinion? I'd lean towards the anti-virus program being involved, if indeed one is installed. They typically start up with the desktop and are configured to "phone home" for updates.

I remember having this problem at one point. At first I thought it was just the X61T being too slow (1.6 GHz L7500 after all), but rkawakami's post seems relevant since I had Avira Free Antivirus installed at the time.

OK, figured out which program was causing this. It wasn't the antivirus program I use - it was the Intel My WiFi. I disabled this and the problem has gone. However, the cause of this appears to be my wireless card taking too long to switch on and/or connect - programs are trying to contact their servers before the wifi is active. I use a Samsung 849 evo mSATA SSD which loads much faster than a mechanical HDD. However, this wasn't an issue previously with an Intel mSATA SSD. Any ideas why the wifi is taking so long to load???

My T520 took a long time to connect. It was using the 6205 card. I upgraded to the 6300 and it doesn't do that anymore. Connection is nearly instant upon waking up.

Interesting. I have the even older N2200 card. Maybe that's the problem.
