CD-DVD Drive does not read CD or DVD (DVD drive powered off)

I have a T430 model, and it's not reading CDs or DVDs. I tried many solutions that is here (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/314060) but it didn't work, I even restored my system but the problem persists. My laptop is new less then 2 years, I've used the CD drive so few times, it's not probable be damaged internally. Could you help me? Have it ever happened with you? Thanks in advance!

Sometimes they just die.

I had the same problem in one of my T510's. It just up and died one day. No message, no error, no nothing.

I popped in the drive from my T520 that wasn't doing anything and it worked as good as new.

They're cheap on e-bay. Just get a new one.

The T430 optical drive powers down when not in use. Sounds like its not powering up again. Do you have all of the power management drivers installed and/or updated?
