T440 FullHD compatible?
T440 FullHD compatible?
I'm looking to buy a T440 with HD panel and immediately swap it to one of the nicer FullHD ones.
I've read conflicting information about if the T440 non-s, non-p version supports FullHD panels or not, including backlight adjustments using buttons.
Can someone confirm this?

Re: T440 FullHD compatible?
Thanks I've already seen this, as well as I've tried Googling everything about it.
But I do find reports saying that the brightness buttons don't work under windows and reports which say they do.

Re: T440 FullHD compatible?
Same question for a T450.
Can I easily upgrade to a nicer Full HD screen of 1920x1080 ?
Would that screen suit a T460 without any modification:

Re: T440 FullHD compatible?
Yes, fitting a fullHD compatible screen works for the T440/T450 models.
I would recommend you getting the AUO B140HAN01.2 since it has the nicer colors and gamut.
I did the procedure on a T440p and I only needed to swap the LCD panel, no need to buy additional cable. Also please make sure the battery is removed, in the case of the T440/T450 do first go to the BIOS and disable the internal battery, otherwise you will fry the motherboard I believe.
In regards to the brightness controls, for the T440/s/p models they work in Windows without issue. For T450/s you would get no way to control the brightness because of the way the LCD EDID is handled. In Linux brightness works fine without problem.
Supposedly there's a new driver from Intel that lets you control the brightness using 3rd Party Apps:

But I haven't tested it.
And on this thread there's different methods to enable brightness on a T450 fitted with aftermarket FullHD Panel.
