Thinkpad T450 mod to WQHD possible?

#1 Post by agarza » Tue Feb 28, 2017 12:28 pm

Hi,

I have been curious if a simple screen swap from the T460s/X1 Carbon WQHD panel would work on a T450?

I have succesfully put an AUO B140HAN01-1 FullHD panel on a T450 that came stock with the low-end 1366x768 panel and worked without problems (except for the issue in Windows to control the brightness).

I saw in other reddit an attempt to perform this on a T440s but no confirmation.

Just as a project, would this be doable? I think there's a difference in the pin count for WQHD vs FHD but I'm not sure.
