T440s trackpoint buttons quit working

the trackpoint buttons on the T440s quit working after the system updated and installed the synaptic driver and without the driver I am not able to adjust the trackpad speed/sensitivity or change any of the features of the trackpoint or trackpad.... so without the driver the trackpoint buttons work but the trackpad isn't sensitive enough and is un-usable and with the driver installed the trackpad works great but the trackpoint buttons don't do anything at all

help me get the correct driver installed so I can get both the whole touchpad and only the trackpoint buttons working

Get the touchpad and buttons from a T450.
T440 is notorious for having the worst touchpad (without buttons) ever.

already did it and now I need help getting the T450 trackpoint buttons and touchpad working as one works withouth driver while one doesn't and the other way around with the driver

It would be highly recommended if you first do your own research, both on the forum and on the web, before you post your question(s) here.

The way you reply to answers is also not inspiring (to put it mildly).
This forum is run by volunteers and visited by a lot of knowledgeable people, who only read (and reply to) what is interesting to them.
It is therefor not realistic to expect an answer for every question.
