Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Remove the battery, power supply and HD/SSD, then press and hold down the Power button for 15-20 seconds.
Then put in only the charger and try to boot.
Also try another power supply if you have it.

Been there, done that. I swapped ssd, took out battery, 3 different chargers and a few more things including the keyboard.

Did you check/replace the CMOS battery?
Take out RAM, try to boot, does it beep 1-3-3-1?
If not, you may need a new mobo.
