OK, so you can probably tell that i scrapped the idea of reviving my dying t42..
but naturally I have some questions about this machine, i hope this isn't going to be as long as my other post
1. When lid is closed it isn't as snug as my t42, like there is something with the latch, the display has 3mm of space to move, is it normal?
2. I have the backlit keyboard, it's super slippery, I have used the non-backlit t460 and preferred it, should I change keyboards?
3. Does it matter that Lenovo doesn't support win10 creators update?
4. When i used produkey to find my product key it tells my that I have a windows 10 pro 64bit and also an OEM-Bios product key, do i have two licenses?
5. Should I install win8.1/ 7 for telemetry reasons? Or Linux?
6. Can someone tell me what is Lenovo settings and why is it so CPU heavy (like 100% if hover my mouse over something)?
7. I have the FHD display, and the trackpoint is set to maximum sensitivity but it feels so heavy compared to the HD (1366x768) version of t460 that I tried, is it because the cursor needs to move more pixels?
8. Also the trackpoint driver is much more feature-rich on the t460 (win7) in my t530 (win10) i only have a sensitivity slider. What's up with that?
9. I have a 836MB recovery partition, is this for the preloaded windows 7 that originally came with the machine?
10. I have the N-6205 what's the best wireless card possible (apart from n-6300)and is it worth upgrading+overriding bios whitelist if possible?
Oh and my specs:
i5-3320m
HD 4000 because of eGPU sometime in the future and thermals
FHD display B156HTN01.1 which is the only reason i went with t530 (very happy with my decision)
6 cell battery about 4 hrs
And just an observation, it seems like there are almost no t5x0 compared to t4x0(s) why do you think?

Re: "new" T530!
1. Starting with the T61, Lenovo's T-series Thinkpads don't seem to fit so snug. The T40 design is one of the best in the regard of sealing shut. I noticed the same thing too moving from T42 to T500.
2. Up to you to decide. The non-backlit KB has the rough texture we know and love, granted it's not overly worn.
6. Lenovo Settings comes with some of the older Thinkpad features like Custom Battery Charge thresholds and the Active Protection System, although the latter can be installed as its own program if you find it. Settings is pretty bloated, slow to load. Lenovo's programs have never been the leanest. A lot of people install a crippled Windows 7's Lenovo Power Manager instead.
10. Only if you want Wireless C or to use unsupported Atheros cards. N-6205 is fine.
The 14" laptops tend to be more popular. Personally I like the 15" size more because I like the large screen, and the better screen res options. In Thinkpads the 15" screens also tend to be better quality with better angles and colors than 14" counterparts. Once you start modding, this point is moot.
