I have the parts to try it, so if no one else has tried it, I'm wondering if someone could tell me what's the worst that could happen if I were to try it?

The T430s also lists the 04W3934, which is called a LED BOARD there.
They look almost identical, except T430s/04w3934 is missing LED1.
Run without the T430s LCD-bezel first, it might not have a hole for the BT LED (the missing LED1?).
Worst case: you blow either the LED-board, or the LCD, or even the motherboard.
But my guess is: it should work.

Jamie want big boom.
For real, good to know for future ref. I got a dead T430s laying around with fried mobo.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.
