I've got a T430 with Nvidia NVS 5400M graphics. I do NOT have a docking station. Can this machine run 3 independent (non-mirrored) displays without a dock - two 1920x1080 resolution monitors and the 1600x900 laptop screen?
The laptop has VGA and miniDP ports and I don't have a mindDP cable yet, so I haven't been able to test this out firsthand yet. I have successfully run a 1920x1080 monitor from the VGA port along with the laptop screen.

Just to follow up on this in case someone else has the same question, this setup works. Mini-displayport cable to one monitor, VGA to another and laptop screen. Just plug and play and use Windows resolution tool to extend the desktop across all 3 screens. No dock required.
Of course, now I'm wondering if I can split the DisplayPort signal and add a fourth non-mirrored screen.

idk i really recommend a docking station, makes the whole setup so much cleaner and you can easily run off with the laptop. You can get em for 20 bux these days.
