T450s ebay Touchpad - no ultranav

#1 Post by zephxiii » Thu Dec 21, 2017 2:27 pm

I bought a replacement touchpad off ebay for my T450s because the trackpoint buttons were all sticky. However when I finally got around to installing the new touchpad, I couldn't get the Ultranav features (like scrolling) and settings to work.

They do look different. Was it for another model or counterfit? I'm leaning towards counterfit. Sad thing is that it worked and felt identical (except better as not sticky).

I ended up rinsing the original under hot water to remove the sticky and throwing it back in. Curious bout the one I got off ebay.

I'm guessing the hardware is Alps and not Synaptics, that's what happened when I bought a T450 trackpad to use on my T440p, the Synaptics driver didn't work.

I'm using this version:
Driver Date: 11/7/2014

Google it and try installing it
Core i7-4710MQ|16GB RAM|Intel 200GB SSD| 14.1" AUO IPS FHD|Win 7 Pro|T450 Trackpad|Backlit keyboard|2nd Caddy

Core i5-6300HQ|16GB RAM|lPNY 256GB SSD| 14.1" Panasonic IPS WQHD|Win 7 Pro
Past: T420 HD+, X61s XGA, T61 14" SXGA+, T42p 14.1 SXGA+, T30, A22e
