Crooked screen rear lid on t430s

#1 Post by Stedy » Thu Feb 01, 2018 5:18 am

Greetings. Recently I have bought used t430s. Today I notice that screen lid crooked (see photos). Any way to fix it? Is this ok for thinkpads? I don't want to buy new lid, seems it doesn't affect on functionality, screen is ok

A little bit of bow in the back part of the lid is normal. It is by design, and improve tolerance to pressure.

You can see a similar effect on my T430s (the middle laptop in the following picture):

Yours may be a bit more exaggerated, but I think it's still within specs. It may depend on how tight the hinge screws are. In any case, I see no reason to worry.
