display alternative t530, tabook

#1 Post by PRAGUEGUY » Sat Feb 17, 2018 7:27 am

Dear thinkpadders, due to worse eyesight I am considering to get a 15 inch or or even desktop replacement , 17 inch for the home.
For T530, what are the recommended display resolutions and display types? I am looking at Ebay, and dont know the alternatives. I have an x230 with IPS...are there T530 laptops with IPS displays? THANKS
also, there used to be something called Tabook which had all the specs...where could I find it?
P. S. I found some ThinkWiki which shows that T530 dont exist with IPS...anybody knows if the TN displays used are good? I have a TN display in one of my x230 and it is terribly lousy for videos. There is only one tiny range of angles from which I can watch a video...thanks.

For T530/W530:
- 15.6" HD (1366x768) LED backlight,
- 15.6" HD+ (1600x900) LED backlight
- 15.6" Full HD (1920x1080) LED backlight

If FHD you'll want a B156HW01 v4 screen, at least as good as IPS (which is NOT available).

Search Google with: lenovo t530 psref (or any other model)

thanks a lot...I believe if one is so choosy, it is easier to graby any laptop and buy the new display panel. Sellers are rarely even aware of what panel they have installed... correct me if I am wrong...thanks again.

regarding 15 inch or desktop replacement, 17 inch, what are the pros and cons? 17 inch is indeed a monster...
