Replaced T440P trackpad with T450 trackpad. Having trouble finding drivers.

#1 Post by kleyne » Wed May 02, 2018 5:35 pm

Hi all. I replaced the T440P trackpad with a T450 trackpad. Everything is working well except I'm having trouble finding drivers on Win10 that work for trackpoint scrolling, two-finger scrolling, etc. Anyone have any experience with this?

So far I've tried:
* Installing the Win10 T450 drivers from here https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds104007.
* Installing n10gx25w drivers from http://driverdl.lenovo.com.cn/think/dow ... gx25w].exe.
* Installing Alps n19gx16w drivers from https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds101993. It throws an error after trying to install and says it "can't match a correct device." Assuming mine isn't Alps then?
* Installing ggr03ww (W550) drivers from https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/gggr03ww.exe.

Also worth noting that before installing drivers, I've ensured that previous drivers are uninstalled. This is where I purchased the trackpad: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-IBM-Lenovo ... 2749.l2649

Thanks in advance..

Welcome to the Forum.
You got an Alps crap-pad, sorry.
I don't have W10 (and never will), but I've not heard anything positive about W10 playing nice with Alps.
I'd suggest you get a Synaptics trackpad instead.

Thanks! What a bummer... I feel like I've exhausted all my options here. Guess I'll just have to get a Synaptics one instead. I'm assuming this is the right one then? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCNGBDL Wish I would have known about there being two makes of the trackpad. Oh well.

Nope, that's another Alps-crap-pad.

If you want to buy on Amazon, here's a real Synaptics one: https://www.amazon.com/Eathtek-T440-T44 ... ad+buttons

Do you know if the standard T440p drivers automatically work with this trackpad or do you have to download/install the one from the T450?

Only a few days ago I described how to install this properly: T440/p CLUNKPAD: Pics and installation of T450 Synaptics and Alps Touchpad+buttons

Actually it is the thread right above this one!
