Keyboard Replacement and conversion

#1 Post by HughP » Sat Jun 16, 2018 12:00 pm

I have a lenovo thinkpad t530, running Ubuntu. It has an ANSI keyboard (built in). The right arrow key became unresponsive. It doesn't seem to be software and the actuator seem to be in fine physical shape, I am not sure the reason. Alas I am going to try a new built in keyboard. Is there any reason (hardware or software wise) that I can't replace the ANSI keyboard with an ISO keyboard? Any "gottchas" I need to be thinking about?

Welcome to the Forum.
Yes, you can replace ANSI against ISO keyboard.
The only change would be in the Region and Language settings.
The T530 can also take a T410/T420/T510/T520/W510/W520/X220 "classic" 7-row keyboard with an EC-mod.
