T440s and backlight flickering when plug/unplug USB

#1 Post by kon_ron » Sun Jun 17, 2018 4:15 pm

Hi guys, I bought an used T440s w/1080p IPS touchscreen but i recently noted a subtle LCD backlight "flickering/pulse" whenever plug or unplug USB peripherals. It's worst with an USB-powered 2.5" HDD, but happens with every device, even mouse or USB stick.

Seems like a "power noise", but happens even running on battery power.

It's common? It's a well known issue?

Probably it's a bug of video or power management driver, related to panel self refresh or something similar. I booted with various linux pendrives and zero problems there.

Help?

Thanks!

P.S. OS: Windows 10 Pro 1803
