FHD IPS screen in T450
So I've been reading about the T450 having a whitelist on the LCD panels, and the one I bought comes with the stock 1366x768 display. I really want to upgrade my display to a 1080p IPS panel like I did in my T440p. On the Reddit and ThinkPad forums there seems to be some people saying certain 1080p panels WILL WORK properly in the T450. Anybody know for sure or have any ideas? I'd love to get something better than the awful TN that's in this thing, and I don't want to be stuck with an "incompatible" screen at full brightness.

When it comes to T450(s) whitelist, according to my knowledge you can use one of the panels listed below:
* LEN40A0 - B140XTN02.6 / B140XTN02.A / LP140WHU-TPBJ / LTN140AT31-401 / N140BGE-EA3
* LEN40A1 - B140RTN03.0 / LP140WD2-TPD1 / LTN140KT14-401 / N140FGE-EA2
* LEN40A3 - B140HAN01.2 / B140HAN01.3 / LP140WF1-SPK1 / LP140WF3-SPD1 / LP140WF6-SPB1 / LTN140HL05-401
There is a good chance that I did not mention all supported models, but all listed above were included in the whitelist of the 1.19 BIOS. Keep in mind that even if you buy one of these panels, they may not work properly out-of-box. This will happen if you buy generic (not LENOVO branded panel) display. Fortunately you can fix this issue by flashing panels EDID data. To do this all you need is a working copy of an GNU/Linux distro, EDID-RW package and a proper EDID file (I do have a copy EDID *.bin for all display panels listed above).

Do you know of any good guides or walkthroughs of the process? I would be interested in doing the EDID mod if the panel I end up getting isn't compatible, but also understand how easy it is to brick the thing if I do it wrong.Pokrzept wrote: ↑Mon Jul 23, 2018 12:50 pmWhen it comes to T450(s) whitelist, according to my knowledge you can use one of the panels listed below:

Re: FHD IPS screen in T450
Thanks for the link, when I get my hands on a panel (if it doesn't properly work out of the box) I will certainly give this a shot. I am fairly familiar with Linux and Linux terminals because I used it to mod my X230 to use an X220 keyboard + remove the battery whitelist. So this doesn't seem too difficult.Pokrzept wrote: ↑Mon Jul 23, 2018 4:14 pmThe best guide I have found so far is http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads ... t-10565766 Beside detailed description you will find all the necessary files as well.
