T430 keyboard backlight issue

#1 Post by fatal_exception » Sun Dec 23, 2018 4:26 pm

So I had functioning backlight for about 5 years. I unscrewed keyboard, cleaned it with a cloth and brush, put it back in and the backlight is barely working. Level 1 gives an amount of light that's unnoticeable even when it's pitch black, level 2 doesn't change anything, intensity stays the same.

I'll admit, I did that when the machine was turned on, so I guess some resistor or some little fuse died. Now here's the question - has anybody encountered an issue like that and can say what and where do I have to replace to get the keyboard backlight back? What I did wasn't very smart but I don't want to spend whole day trying to diagnose what broke and how can I fix it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

For now, after I checked the schematics, it looks like the 220R 5% 1/16W resistor on "ledpwr" line is bust, but for now it's just a guess.
