T440 W10 - Synaptics issues

#1 Post by WVZR1 » Thu Dec 27, 2018 9:18 am

I've a T440 that I've considered the sale of. I did the W10 'upgrade' when it was first offered. I thought that for the sale it would be best to offer it with a 'fresh' W10 install vs a W7 - PRO and just supply the Lenovo W7 'restore media' with the sale. I don't use an image service any longer but I did add some to a thread @ Lenovo with no responses. I've used the 115, 137 driver and also a newer Lenovo supplied just this month. Same results. Any thoughts?

I see no way to make the 'touch-pad' pointer, single finger scroll etc available to me! I thought the posting @ Lenovo might generate a quick response from someone who had recently done the Version 1803 update which seems to have busted the touch-pad options again.

Simply say w10 don't have the software for it and you need to look at the download section for T440 if download is available for the touchpad software if not then you need to bring it back on win 7 or 8, this is common in all laptops specially if you upgrade it from the recommended o.s some of them need to manually install to make it work again if it's available.

Thank you

I would think there's actually a solution since this machine functioned correctly for 3+ years with a full functioning 'track-pad' and W10. It was a struggle @ the first upgrade to W10 but it was accomplished. Every driver I've used has come from the Lenovo T440/W10 driver recommendation since the clean V1803 install. I'm not rushed but I certainly would like to sell it soon. Maybe the W7 is a last resort and let the buyer worry regarding W10.

You might have a better chance for selling it, if you replace that abominable clunkpad with a T450 touchpad+buttons!
See viewtopic.php?f=68&t=126860
That also has some W10 info.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
