[Solved] T460 - Mobo connector for trackpad damaged
Hi T'padders
I got a 2nd hand T460 that suffered a water accident. The previous owner said that while cleaning the mobo with Isopropyl alcohol it damaged a mobo connector.
I opened the T460 today and I see she/he broke the closing mechanism for the trackpad connector, as the pic below shows:

Is there any way to fix this? I tried a redneck approach and put some kapton tape on top of the cable, the inserted it in the connector and kaptop-taped it again. But this did not work (not that I had great expectations about this).
Any hint is welcome! Thanks a lot in advance!

I "fixed" a few of those by inserting a folded piece of paper between flex-cable and connector-housing.

Thanks for the hint, I'll give it a try.
Is there any glue that could work? I was searching in eBay and found some glues that are conductive, like this example: silver conductive glue. Is this an alternative? Or a totally bonkers idea?

Do NOT glue it, the flexcable needs pressure from above, which glue cannot give!
Also try maybe a piece of an old credit-card or similar.
It's easy enough.
Once you have the paper/carton/credcard in place, only then put a piece of Kapton tape or similar over it.

Roger that, I'll do the paper trick tomorrow...
EDIT: And the paper trick did the work! Palmrest and Touchpoint work... (Not that I doubted RBS solution, but I wasn't sure if anything else was damaged )
