I received two freebie T440 laptops. One is torn apart and apparently has a dead motherboard and a touch screen. The other has a HD screen with a white line across the centre.
Question is: 1. Can I removed the touch screen digitizer from the second laptop HD+ screen and 2. then put it in the T440 with the bad screen. The one with the bad screen (white line) obviously does not have the correct top for taking the entire digitized screen hence why I want to separate the two. I'd consider putting the entire top with the digitizer onto the one with the bad screen but the hinges are not good on the one with the touch screen (understand they use different hinges as well as top.
So, briefly, can I remove the digitizer from the touch screen and have a normal HD+ screen under it?

T440 - available screen transplant?
Re: T440 - available screen transplant?
Never mind. Did a brain transplant.
Re: T440 - available screen transplant?
Okay, I'm back! The touch digitizer is cracked. Need to know if I can take the digitizer off and use the screen in a non-touch T450?

On some screens the digitizer is only glued around the screen edges, which can be fairly easily removed (e.g. Lenovo S230U Twist)
On others it's glued all over (e.g. Lenovo X61 Tablet).
Don't know about your model.
