T430 Palmrest/Touchpad cable - help

#1 Post by GhostriderTx » Sun Mar 24, 2019 6:45 am

Bought a new palmrest for my older T430 and need help. On the underside is the cable that plugs into the system board. New palmrest did not come with it and the assembly seems to be glued to the bottom of touchpad. What is this and where can I get one. The best I could find in hardware manaul is a title called FPC but I can't find anything on Lenov's site that seems to be that part.

Check the second picture here, you should be able to carefully remove the cable from your old palmrest and transfer it to the new one.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (the Real Black Stuff). And pigs CAN fly!

It's not that easy. There is a rectangular section glued to the bottom of the touchpad plus the cables. I pried on it and it has some really strong glue. I would prefer to buy a new module but cannot figure out what in the world to look for and the hardware manual is not much help
