Has anyone figured out how to bring back the trackpoint sensitivity option in the T4XX T5XX + line of Thinkpads?
Hello! Thinkpad T470 owner here. Seems like a lot of people online are complaining (rightfully so) about not being able to adjust the trackpoint sensitivity. This is 100% a driver issue as people running Linux have no issue adjusting it.
The problem is, older drivers aren't compatible with this line of Thinkpads, so I can't just install the T420 trackpoint drivers, for example.
The only solutions I found online so far were:
-use Linux instead of Windows
-buy some weird aftermarket Trackpoint nub from Etsy (this is not a solution as far as I am concerned)
-adjust some registry setting in Windows that actually does nothing apparently
-put the mouse pointer to max speed, which still isn't good enough
-disable the trackpad which makes the mouse move a little easier for some reason, which I also don't consider a solution
So is there some reason we can't find any Windows drivers that will allow us to change the trackpoint sensitivity? Why did Synaptics take this out, and why did Lenovo allow it? This is making my favorite pointing device, the trackpoint, not as enjoyable to use.
I am hoping someone figured out how to hack the drivers or something to bring the option back, but I am not finding anything. Any help would be appreciated!

If I understood correctly, your problem is not that the settings are not there, but that they don't work?
I have a Thinkpad 25 and the speed control works for me; however, I think it may be a different trackpoint device from T470/570 (for sure it uses different caps). The Synaptics driver version is 19.3.4.219 from 31/Oct/2018.

No, I don't even have the OPTION to adjust the sensitivity. I can adjust the speed, but unfortunately that's not the same thing. On my T420 there was the option to adjust the speed AND sensitivity.dr_st wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 1:08 amIf I understood correctly, your problem is not that the settings are not there, but that they don't work?

Do you have the Slow-Fast scale as in the first picture in this thread?

If so, does it work?
My Mouse Properties Thinkpad tab looks exactly the same, and it works fine. I don't recall there ever being two separate trackpoint sliders. What I do recall is that on older laptops / with older drivers, there was a 'sensitivity' slider for the trackpoint, in addition to the pointer speed slider in the 'Pointer options' tab. Maybe I don't remember correctly.

There used to be separate sliders for the trackpoint. One for speed and one for sensitivity. The sensitivity option is what's gone.
It's entirely a driver thing, as users in Linux are able to adjust the sensitivity on these laptops.
