Confirming before purchase

#1 Post by ecojournalist » Fri May 17, 2019 10:03 am

I have a T430S, and want to upgrade the FHD 1600x900 to a better screen. I already have the required adapter. I want to make sure that this screen:

Is the one that I can purchase and should work. I understand there is a risk of green-lines and/or light being emitted from the edge though.

Can anyone give me a go-ahead with this?

You have some resolutions wrong. 1600x900 is the HD+ screen, and unless you are using the WQHD kit you need a 1080p screen.

Not sure what chip you have, but if you have the WQHD kit, then yes this would work.

But as the lovely King has said, FHD =/= 1600 x 900. It is HD+

However this seller quoted
Part number LP140QH1-SPB1
(or replacement model)
Not so sure how I feel about getting a 'replacement model', I'd rather scourge the internet for a few more weeks for a genuine used LCD or from a dealer that does not do this compatible 'get the sale' crap.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. Apparently the ones I linked to are out of stock. I found a different one. And yes, I have the WQHD kit. Will this one also do the trick? Is there any benefit to say this one or waiting for the others to come back in stock?

From my experience, all sellers are trying to sell compatible panels first, then genuine ones, unless you explicitely specify that you want only genuine model and nothing else, so if you're making a purchase, be sure to state in comment/send PM to the seller that you want only exact model (you're after), otherwise you might wind up with some [censored] "compatible" model which will have very poor brightness, very poor viewing angles and basically everything will suck about the panel.
