Bluetooth on Thinkpad T430 do not discover/scan any device

#1 Post by pulplup » Sat May 18, 2019 1:54 pm

I am using Arch Linux on a Thinkpad T430 (model 2344-GNU) and the Bluetooth cannot find any device.

When I use bluetoothctl and blueman to scan/find devices it do not find anything.
I have tried to pair three different devices (a cellphone, a game controller and a headset), and each one of them was not found.

The bluetooth hardware is recognized by the Operating System, but it do not work.

lsusb outputs the following about the Bluetooth hardware on the laptop:

Code: Select all

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0a5c:21e6 Broadcom Corp. BCM20702 Bluetooth 4.0 [ThinkPad]
Bluetooth.service is running, and bluetoothctl do not output any error, it just cannot find anything.

What can I do to get it working?

I also posted this question on Arch Linux forums
