T450 bios upgrade on Ubuntu

#1 Post by Olwe » Wed May 22, 2019 11:41 pm

How can I get/install the latest possible BIOS on my T450s if I'm using Ubuntu and don't have the typical Lenovo Vantage Windows software?

Download the ISO, burn it to CD, or (if you don't have an external CD drive handy) to a flash drive using an ISO-to-USB tool such as Rufus, boot from it and flash.

How can I get it onto a usb? Nothing on Ubuntu or Windows (Rufus) wants to write it to a USB, only to a CD. The T450S has no CD.

Rufus is specifically a tool for creating bootable USB drives from CD images. Are you sure you are referring to the same thing?
