Re: ThinkPad T480 1366x768 to 1920x1080
I got a computer shop to replace the display on my T450 with a 1920x1080 panel and it works brilliantly. So I would say that was totally possible.

Is there a better answer for this?
It seems there are a few LCD cables:
01YR501 Windu-2 (20L5/20L6) FRU LCD eDP Cable,WN-2
01YR502 Windu-2 (20L5/20L6) FRU Touch LCD Cable,WN-2
01YR503 Windu-2 (20L5/20L6) FRU WQHD LCD Cable,WN-2
Is the 01YR501 used with both the HD and FHD screens?

These are frubom-listed T480 14" FHD IPS Anti-Glare 250nit panels:
BOE 01LW093 On-Cell
AUO 01LW092 On-Cell
LGD 01LW010
INX 02DL764 45% VESBkt
INX 01EN100 Slim
BOE 01YN162 Touch
BOE 01YN103
BOE 01YN143
AUO 01YU650 On-Cell
AUO 00NY673
You'll need to do some serious searching to find the correct manufacturer part-numbers.
On-Cell means it's a Touch-screen.
No idea what VESBkt or Slim means.
There are also brighter 400nit LowPower screens from the T490/s that seem to fit in T480:

Re: ThinkPad T480 1366x768 to 1920x1080
No one's reported back about trying any of the 400 nit panels? Or they've tried and only had ghosting problems?
The few models I checked appear to have the socket in the correct location. Can anyone confirm that stock FHD T480 screens are 3.4mm thick?
The few I saw on ebay are missing mounting brackets -- could take a few beer bottle caps, a file, and some epoxy to add metal tabs onto the panel.

Re: ThinkPad T480 1366x768 to 1920x1080
I've installed a N140HCG-GQ2 into a t480. It's got one dead pixel, but otherwise works fine. Haven't measured the brightness or contrast, but it is a huge improvement over the NT140WHM-N41 v8.0 (FRU 01EN020).
There are a few extra millimeters at the screen-top and on the sides which needs to be filled. Also, there are not mounting tabs.
