Source for new, genuine 57++ batteries?

#1 Post by refujee » Tue Feb 11, 2020 3:19 pm

I recently bought a 'new, genuine' 57++ battery on eBay for my T440p. It even had the Lenovo sticker on it but it didn't hold much of a charge and the plastic casing was extremely cheap causing it to squeak whenever the laptop was moved. It also said LG on the sticker but Sanyo in dmidecode. I sent the seller a message asking if it was indeed genuine and they instantly refunded me without any further communication.

Lenovo/Encompass doesn't seem to be selling them any longer so I don't really know where to go for a 100% legit battery. Is there such a thing still?

Nowadays KingSener on AliExpress seems to be a reliable 3rd-party battery supplier: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1898372

"LIQUID USA" on Amazon claims to have new open box batteries from 2019. I'm going to give that a go. If that doesn't end up panning out then I'll look at the KingFishers.
