T450 bricked - am I in danger?

#1 Post by stumpie92 » Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:51 am

Rewrote my T450 BIOS (screen whitelist issue) but machine is dead and I need to reopen it. Normally you disable the internal battery in the BIOS before opening the case. What might go wrong if I just open the case? I don't seem to have any options here, but forewarned is forearmed! All debricking tips welcome of course.

Remove external battery and AC, then open the case.
Disconnect the internal battery before you go any further.
Then go play with your flasher, i.e. reload your (hopefully saved) 'old' BIOS.

OK @RealBlackStuff, thanks for that reassurance. I know you don't want stray voltages when ICs are about. BTW can I run my machine OK without the cover? Quite a pain getting it on and off while playing!
