T530 +NV5400 - Fan control program
Hello, what program do you recommend for fan regulation and temperature measurement.
I have a T530 + Nvidia mainboard
+(Win 7 x64)
I installed old IBM TPFC 0.62 (work wery well in T60p)
But it T530 only detects CPU temperature ???
Maybe I chose the wrong version of the program
https://thinkwiki.de/TPFanControl
Thanks & b. regsarts

I just use the latest version of the TPFancontrol. I believe there is an option in the ini file to show more sensors on T530 though.

Hi, Apart from Tpfancontrol, have a look at HWinfo64 , has good overall info with good sensor panel for temperatures, and Speedfan for fan management. Also has a small temp. info module.

Why do you need more readings in tpfc? I have been using it in x230 and w530 for many years now and it always worked just fine. CPU temp measurement is the only thing you need anyway, nVidia Quadro chip produces much less temperature as opposed to CPU, and the CPU and GPU are using the same heatsink, so if one gets hot, the other gets too (in this case CPU would always be the one who would produce the most heat, from my experience). Just set up your desired fan curve via tpfc's config file and call it a day.

Re: T530 +NV5400 - Fan control program
AFAIK there are no Windows programs that has both Thinkpad fan control and nVidia GPU temperature readout.
TPfancontrol cannot report the NVS 5400M's temperature sensor because the former can only read the sensors that are exposed by the Thinkpad's BIOS/embedded controller, and the GPU's temp is not routed there. Unfortunately, other software that can read GPU temps like Speedfan can't control the T530's fan because they don't know how to talk to the Thinkpad's BIOS/embedded controller.
