T450s vs macbook pro - thermal efficiency
T450s vs macbook pro - thermal efficiency
I've still experiencing a bad thermal efficiency with lenovo T450s laptop.
I've a macbook pro with i7 cpu too. I've isntalled a cpu temperature monitor on it.
With the same laptop usage there is a huge cpu temp difference.
On lenovo cpu temp is on 50 celsius degrees while on macbook is 37 celsius degrees.

When was the last time fan was cleaned and thermal paste was refreshed, and with what brand?
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
Re: T450s vs macbook pro - thermal efficiency
if you rememebr I've replied you about thermal paste in another thread. I changed it some days ago with arctic MX4 , maximum cpu temp has decresed by 10 degrees .
In any case I changed the energy saving settings in the max cpu clock (75%). I dont know why cpu utilization goes to high percentage with simply web browser usage.
I tried to scan wit kaspersky av, observed tasks, and so on... nothing of strange.

Not all i7 CPUs are equal in terms of heat and thermal efficiency.
Optimization on chipset, BIOS and OS level can sometimes make a big difference.
Full load temperature matter more than idle temperatures.
