T460s hard drive upgrade options

#1 Post by baertracks » Mon Jun 14, 2021 4:11 pm

I've purchased a T460s with a 250GB SSD M.2 SATA for a colleague in African. I would like to upgrade this laptop, if possible, to a larger hard drive. I know that I can replace the existing drive with a 500 GB SSD or a 1TB SSD M.2 SATA.

However, before going that route I'm wondering if there might be other options to consider? Would it be possible, for example, to add a secondary "drive" of some sort to this laptop?

Thanks for your advice!

You can install a Samsung 950 PRO NVMe or one like this model also. There is not a extra space for a second drive though So I would get a larger drive for windows 10 like 512 +. There is on some models right side near the screen a sim slot for A micro SD card. Mine unit has this. When you upgrade any hardware disconnect the batteries ahead of time. And any SD cards installed.
