I have a T495 and whenever I reinstall a fresh copy of Windows 10 I run into driver issues, namely AMD video and power drivers: YouTube HD playback is sometimes choppy, the LCD panel backlight does not turn off when the PC goes to standby.
My experience is different on every reinstall, and I'm guessing it's because the drivers happen to come from different sources: sometimes I pull everything from Windows Update, or the OS pulls the driver for me automatically, while sometimes I get drivers from Lenovo Vantage. Once I've got drivers which were automatically detected by some AMD software.
My question is: where should I pull drivers from in order to avoid issues? I'm guessing the answer is Lenovo Vantage, but how do I prevent Windows from installing stuff? It basically starts installing drivers the moment it detects an internet connection.
Thanks!
