T440p on docking - do i need a new charger?

#1 Post by devinfriday » Sat Jan 22, 2022 1:21 pm

Hi,
i got my T440p with i7-4700mq on the Ultra Dock 40A2, with an external monitor and some peripherals (USB 3.0 hdd among others). Everything is powered by the 65W official charger. Do i need to upgrade to a higher one like the 90W? Also, the battery is the 57+ and it last little more than an hour and half with Google Meet only, do u think i should upgrade it 2?
TIA.
Cheers.

65W? You're not even supposed to use the laptop itself with the 65W. Lenovo's standard called for 65W charger for dual-core integrated graphics machines. 90W for dual-core discrete graphics and 135W for quad-core models. 65W for your quad-core, plus the dock with peripherals, would really be pushing it.
