Faulty t470 keyboard

#1 Post by dannylee » Wed Jun 29, 2022 4:58 pm

Hopefully somebody can help me with this. I bought an used thinkpad t470 that had a faulty keyboard which wasn't really a problem at first since it's used docked anyway. The issue is, whenever the keys "b", "n", "space", "backspace", "down arrow" and maybe others are used it register as multiple key hits. The problem persists on the bios keyboard test as seen on the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFZ-Mjp4QNM . Now I needed it for traveling, so I bought a new keyboard as to my surprise the problem remains the same. I opened it and removed the mainboard to take a look and couldn't really find any signs of corrosion, so I'm not sure what to do about it. The trackpoint doesn't work in either keyboard, but that could be due to me not setting up the drivers since I never bothered. Anybody had a similar issue?
