Buying a T580 in 2023, what serious issues to know?

Hi

I want to replace my t440p, with a t580. A quick glance in reddit shows these two issues: (1) USB-C recepticle and (2) BIOS password lock.

(A) If I am unlucky enought to buy a t480 with a bad USB-C recepticle, how much would it cost to have a professional repair it?

(B) If the BIOS password has a problem, does this mean the laptop is bricked? (Like a locked iPhone).

(C) What else should I know about the t480?

p.s. I bought my t440p online. I will look for a t580 online also. So, there's no way to inspect it before buying one.

(B) If there is an SVP, get an EEPROM flasher like CH341A, then check eBay listings like this.
