I have a Western Digital SN520 512 gig NVMe drive in my T480 WWAN slot. I guess the important things are M.2 form factor, 2242 height and NVMe protocol.

T480 PSREF mentions an SSD in WWAN.
T480s PSREF does NOT mention an SSD in WWAN, so you are probably out of luck.
However, WWAN may still be usable as storage-only, but not for a bootable OS.

This guy on reddit got an SN520 2242 (B+M key) to work on his T480s.

This other guy on reddit is crazier, using a dremel to add a B notch on an M-key 2242 NVMe SSD (and taping the adjacent pins) to make it work on his T480s.

Do note that the WWAN slot is limited to PCIe 3.0 x1 on the T480s, resulting in around 900 megabytes/sec max (still faster than SATA).

You can use the WD SN500 and SN520 in 2280 format and cut those down to 2242, as seen here.

That speed enough for me,i just want add one more cheaper storage because other nvme with more storage above 512 gb is expensive.

FYI: the WD 2280 is usually cheaper than the WD 2242 drive.
Worth looking into if money is tight.
All you need is a drill (for the hole) and a hacksaw.
Do that away from the laptop, because of the fine dust.

Form factor generaly yes. But if u want buy something better to count all pins on port and on device which you want to put in thath port.
