Obviously it's going to differ based on the individual's use-case/OS, but can anyone ball park it?

My X280 with 8650U consumes 3-4W during light browsing. I'd expect the larger size, larger resolution screen to raise that consumption to around 5-7W.

In order to get that consumption I use Firefox with disk cache disabled (won't wake the SSD) and NoScript to block bloatware. I also have 264ify to force Youtube to serve me videos with CODECs the GPU has hardware acceleration for. It also helps to reduce the power limits (PL1/PL2) with ThrottleStop so the fan remains off.

In general, battery life depends on a lot on how you have your system configured.

X1C9: 1185G7 | 32GB | 1TB | WUXGA | WWAN
X1Y8: 1365U | 32GB | 1TB | WUXGA
For the sake of ecology I donated all my classic Thinkpads.

The T480 is now six years old. Much will depend on what kind of shape battery is in.

I have a T480 with the 72wh battery in it.
Mine isn't 1440p, it's just 1080p so that may affect things, not sure by how much.

Main removable battery: 72wh, supposed Lenovo OEM (bought new off ebay for around $40), reads 86% health roughly. Dropped to 86% after first cycle and hasn't dropped further since. 12 cycles.
Internal bridge battery: Original to the laptop as far as I know, 93.8% health. 49 cycles (yep, this thing is basically minty fresh).

I get battery life that basically lasts all day. Batteryreport estimates around 10 hours and the most it shows I've gone is a bit over 7, but I usually don't fully drain it in a given day, then I plug in at night.

Edit: Should have also mentioned this - my T480 is an i5-8530U with iGPU.

I bought the big 9 cell battery to replace the little 3 cell, combined with the internal 3 cell. WQHD, i7-8650u. When it was new, estimates were about about 16 hours while working.
