T460s - Touchpad doubleclicks occasionally when clicking once

Any way to fix this? My Thinkpad T460's touchpad randomly will doubleclick when trying to single click something. Really annoying, as it will open a program twice for example, or open two new tabs when trying to open one new tab.

I assume it's a hardware issue with the touchpad itself. Do I need to clean something inside it, or is the only way to fix this to replace the entire touchpad module?

I do have another touchpad from another parts laptop, but it's super worn and looks awful, so I'd prefer to avoid using it if possible. (And honestly, I don't know if that one works properly either)
