T430 CMOS RTC battery

Hello all:
My daughters T430 (vintage 2012) finally started giving the RTC error on startup and losing time. So I dutifully ordered a CR2032 battery from Amazon, installed it, and all is well again. It lasted 13 years - can't complain.
However, when I checked the voltage of the old battery, it read 2.97volts. This was a no-load measurement and I know that it should really be tested under load (but I have no way of doing that). Just surprised, that's all!
