x390 yoga. hibernation drain. PLEASE
x390 yoga. hibernation drain. PLEASE
PLEASE HELP.
I had a fleet of these. still have a bunch in operation. 20nn's 20nq's. a bunch with different configs but all x390 yoga's. i5 with vpro. This is a problem we have been trying to fix for years. We were hoping eventually a firmware update would fix it. we are starting to have to replace these for no other reason.
There is significant battery drain in hibernation. atleast 10-15% overnight. might as well be in sleep. Last i checked i didn't lose battery powered off. it's not the battery. they have been replaced over time. it's nothing that is common or uncommon. When they were under warranty they even tried replacing motherboards. Every single thing has been tried especially the usual suspects. these computers have gone through tons of factory reinstalls. always using the factory image. happens in w10 and w11. They are always kept up to date with commercial vantage and windows update.
Disabled Fast Startup in Windows power settings
Disabled Power-Off Charging in the BIOS
Checked that USB Always On is off
Disabled Wake on LAN / “Magic Packet” in BIOS
Ensured wake timers are cleared / turned off
Checked for and disabled Thunderbolt assist in boot / BIOS
tried rebuilding the hibernation file
enabled amt and changed it to power is s0 only
countless sleep studies, power studies, battery studies.
entered hibernation by closing the lid and from the shut down menu with no change.
I know this doesn't seem like a big deal but it has caused huge problems. i cant remember all the other things i already tried.
thanks for the read.

Welcome to the forum.
OS can override BIOS wakeup settings or schedule its own wake sources.
Run powercfg -devicequery wake_armed from the command prompt. Which devices are listed?

Re: x390 yoga. hibernation drain. PLEASE
Registering just to post that I also have this hibernation drain on my X390 yoga. I've tried just about everything to resolve without any luck.
Had thought it was a windows issue, but after seeing your post it sounds like it really must be something directly related to this model directly- a BIOS or similar bug?

As a very last resort, you could disable the battery in BIOS.
To check if it's windows related, you could try a Linux install.
I would recommend MX-Linux-KDE, works perfect on my X280's and T480s.
