did you see ?
Another proof of the dismantle of the Thinkpad brand by Lenovo; adios our cherished NMB's.
It is a disaster.

I'm actually pretty happy with it overall. Did it need to be different, nope. But the feel of it is pretty good and solid on my unit. The only gripe I've got is that placement of the home/end/insert/delete. Other than that, it's just been a slight adjustment to get used to flat topped keys. The travel, sound, etc are pretty good. It's a world better than some of the other crap out there.

I would agree. The actual typing is very good on the X230, but if old keyboard layout is ingrained in your synaptic pathways, you probably can't be made happy with the new one.

I'm finding the keyboard to be just fine - but the trackpoint seems sunk down farther. That seems weird.

Such reports have appeared on traditional Thinkpad keyboards as well. I wouldn't see this as a sign of anything wrong with the new keyboard.

Givet chiclet keyboard a try. I can understand the issues people have with it having less key travel, loss of 7th row etc. On the bright side, the keyboard is easier to clean, keys are less likely to pop out and there is zero flexing.
