X230 Network Simcard Usage (Philippines)

Hi Guys,
I'm from the Philippines, apologies for the ignorance but my X230 is just company issued one thus i'm not really into techy stuffs. So, my question is, since I tried reading the manual, I knew of the simcard slot near the battery, bottomline, will the normal network simcard work in my x230 just like any other cellphone wherein you just slide the simcard in the phone and you can use it already? Thanks in advance for your replies.
