X230 docking connector cover too easy to broken...

#1 Post by griffonw » Tue Oct 09, 2012 12:01 pm

Just discover the docking connector "flip cover" in my newly bought X230 got broken!
I place it in a soft plastic notebook protection bag when I bring it out.....
How come it can be broken so easy??? I did not use that connector.....

Is it possible to buy the connector cover or I need to replace the docking connector port entirely???

Please help....

Your pictures do not load.

I also use my X230T inside a soft Lenovo cover, then inside a computer backpack stuffed with paperwork. Mine looks intact.

Give service a call.
First Thinkpad 755CX in 1995. First IBM: PC 1982 8088 w 64K RAM, dual floppy. Currently in use:
X230T with Win8Pro x64, i7, 500gb ssd; W700 WUXGA RAID 1 Blu-Ray W7Pro x64, occasionally a T61p with Win7Pro x64

You can check the pic as follow:

I have no idea when the cover got broken.....
I just want to know whether Lenovo can just replace the cover.....
or they need to replace the whole connector.....

I don't want to leave my X230 to them for a few days for repair.....
