Hi - I wanted to know if the 9 cell X220 battery, PN 0A36283, fit the X230i?

Anyone know for sure.

Thanks!

I'm sorry, this is no certain answer, but my best guess:

since the X230(i) doesn't have the new "RapidCharge" technology, it will most probably work.
(cf: http://www.lenovo.com/products/us/lapto ... ries/x230/ - no rapid charge mentioned, not in the tech specs PDF there either.)

AFAIK this could be the only reason for newer Thinkpads to not accept "old" batteries.
So you should be on the safe side.

#30-generation ThinkPads all have this "battery safeguard" mechanism built in. They will only charge an official Lenovo battery specifically designed for #30 generation. You can power an X230 with an old Lenovo battery for X220, but it will not charge when you plug in AC. So no, X220 batteries does not fully work in X230.
