Battery Issues with Thinkpad X230 laptop

My laptop is only a couple of months old. It has a 9 cell battery which has been working decently until now. The laptop is not booting up on battery power. I thought that the battery might be low so I plugged in AC power. It booted up, but the battery status in notification area says '52% available (plugged in, not charging)'. If anyone has encountered this problem before, please help.

Similar problem on a few laptop batteries but capacity "reading" was 72% not 52%. Had to replace the battery each time.

Get the battery replaced under warranty.
